Montreal, Canada, October 20, 2020 – Introspect Technology, leading manufacturer of test and measurement tools for high-speed digital applications, is pleased to announce that two of its newest products have received a Highly Commended rating from the prestigious Electronics Industry Awards 2020. The first rating was in the category of Test, Measurement & Inspection Product of the Year, and it went to Introspect Technology’s SV5C-12 Personalized SerDes Tester. The second Highly Commended rating, going to Introspect Technology’s SV4E-CPRXG MIPI C-PHY Frame Grabber, was in the category of Engineering Development/Design Tool of the Year.

About the SV5C-12 Personalized SerDes Tester

What makes the SV5C unlike any other product in the test and measurement marketplace is that the SV5C is a new hybrid tool: it provides massively parallel lane-count coverage, as well as highly-automated and speedy test execution akin to production Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) – all while simultaneously offering superior analog performance that rivals conventional high-end (and high-cost) analog tools typically deployed for only single-lane characterization. All of these capabilities come in a handheld form factor, which means that engineers can deploy an entire validation bench within a compact box that travels inside any briefcase. A compact solution translates into easier deployment in an already crammed and often resource‐constrained lab. It also means that engineers can have their own “high performance” bench right at their desk without needing to go to the “ATE lab”.

About the SV4E-CPRXG MIPI C-PHY Frame Grabber

The SV4E-CPRXG leverages many generations of hardware and software tools for MIPI, and it is optimized for the C-PHY physical layer. In terms of analog design, its unique monolithic C-PHY analog front end is the highest-performing in the industry, able to operate at 3.5 Gsps per trio. The current state of the art is only 2.5 Gsps. Additionally, the analog front-end is coupled with a highly flexible protocol layer, and this means that it can interoperate with any CSI-2 lane configuration. It also supports all CSI-2 data types and pixel formats, and it can grab non-image data such as digitized radar signals. This kind of data is critical for the development of autonomous driving applications. Finally, the SV4E-CPRXG contains integrated programmable power supplies for automating the turn-on and turn-off of sensors under test, and it has I2C and I3C masters for controlling sensors under test and providing host emulation functionality. Indeed, this compact (5.5” x 4”) is the only piece of hardware required to perform frame grabbing on any C-PHY sensor.

The recognition by the Electronics Industry Awards 2020 for both of these products is very much appreciated by Introspect Technology. Being able to demonstrate – through such recognition – that Introspect Technology’s products enable engineers all over the world to achieve their best possible work is gratifying and is true testimony to the company’s motto of “making tomorrow’s technology today’s possibility”.
