JAE Selects Introspect Technology’s 8-Lane, 28 Gbps Personalized SerDes Tester
Montréal, Canada, November 07, 2018 — Introspect Technology, producer of innovative test and measurement tools, today announced that Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, Ltd. (JAE), a global leader in the design and manufacturing of connectors, has selected the SV2C 8-Lane, 28 Gbps Personalized SerDes Tester for the production and qualification of JAE’s high-speed data transmission products.
Specifically, the SV2C was deployed by JAE for the performance qualification and production quality improvement of interface applications running at rates higher than 20 Gbps such as Thunderbolt or Ethernet, including active metal and optical cables.
As a result of deploying Introspect Technology’s SV2C, JAE was quickly able to achieve benefits in three distinct domains:
1. Productivity — high throughput, quick turn around time, multi-site, and optimized accuracy
2. Operability — easy setup and maintenance
3. Affordability — low power and small foot print
The SV2C Personalized SerDes Tester is an ultra-portable, high-performance instrument that creates a new category of tool for testing high-speed digital products. The SV2C integrates multiple technologies to enable self-contained test and measurement of SerDes links up to 28 Gbps. Coupled with a seamless, easy-to-use development environment, the SV2C enables product engineers, validation engineers, and production-test engineers to develop fast and efficient SerDes verification algorithms. The SV2C fits in one hand and contains e- ight independent stimulus generation ports, eight independent error detectors, and various clocking, synchronization, and lane-expansion capabilities. It has been designed specifically to address the growing need of a parallel, system-oriented test methodology while offering world-class signal-integrity features such as jitter injection, de-emphasis generation, and equalization.
With a small form factor, an extensive feature set, and an exceptionally powerful software development environment, the SV2C is not only suitable for receiver signal-integrity verification engineers that perform traditional characterization tasks, but it is also ideal for FPGA developers and software developers who need rapid turnaround signal verification tools or hardware-software interoperability confirmation tools. It features eight (8) differential pattern generators, each with independent pattern, pre-emphasis, and amplitude controls. It also features eight (8) differential error detectors, each with its own hardware clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit. Finally, it supports jitter injection and jitter measurement across eight channels simultaneously.
The SV2C Personal SerDes Tester is available for purchase from Introspect Technology or through one of its approved worldwide distributors.
